Month Long Events at all Libraries

Winter Reading: December 1 - January 31 - We're on a quest to find the Yeti, and maybe some of his friends along the way! Track your reading through December and January for fun and prizes. Pick up a reading log at any Sweetwater County library to start your journey. 

Month Long Drop in Events at the Sweetwater County Library: January 1 - 31

World Braille Day: January 3 - 13: Learn all about braille and how to read (and write!!) it. Stop by the library to read books written in braille, write a secret message and collect a bookmark with a special word written in braille. Pick up a free copy of Helen Keller: The Story of My Life. Book recommended for ages 10 and up.  

Reading Dragons Reading Program: Add sparkling detail to your dragon cards! This month add gold foil leaf to create a one of a kind set of Dragon, Unicorn or Griffin cards. For youth in Kindergarten - 12th grade.

Mount Yeti: Life Sized Game: Climb to the top of Mount Yeti in our newest life sized game. Play and collect a bit of the mountain to take home.

Tea Month: Brrrr! It's cold outside and we are ready to help you heat back up. Have a cup of tea on us anytime you stop in at the library. Plus Stellar Coffee is offering BOGO coupons to patrons that visit the library in January. Visit the front desk for more information. 

StoryWalk: It's a fun and educational family activity that you can enjoy in the fresh Wyoming air! Take a stroll and enjoy a children's story along the way. This January enjoy Yetis Are The Worst by Alex Willan. The StoryWalk is located on the Barbara Carroll Memorial Parkway at the Green River Recreation Center. 

Teen Trivia: Every time teens visit the library they can try our bubble machine for the chance to be a winner! Exciting new trivia every month! 

Side Quests - Yeti Edition: Complete a quest and collect a prize. Search for the elusive smiling Yeti to win BIG. For all ages!

Month Long Drop in Events at the Rock Springs Library: January 1 - 31

Coloring Contest: Unleash your inner artist and help us decorate our very brown walls! Complete a coloring page and turn it in to brighten up our space and possibly win a prize! 

Read Your Height: School is back in session, and that means one thing - Read Your Height is back! The librarians at RSL are racing against the school year to read their height in book spines. Will you join them? You can grab a reading log any time the library is open from now until the end of school. 

Downtown Snowman Scavenger Hunt: January 18 - February 28: The Snowmen are back - can you find them all? Scavenger Hunt sheets are available at the Rock Springs Library, bring it back for a small prize and an entry into a large prize drawing!​

Quest: There are side quests at the library just waiting for you to take them. Choose your quest at the Youth Desk to try and win (you'll always win) a prize.

What Hobby Am I?: In need of a new hobby for your New Year's Resolution? Look no further! Every day we'll have a photograph posted of a hobby or pastime for you to identify and possibly try out!

Yeti Bookmark: Make a Yeti friend to keep your place as you participate in our Winter Reading Program!

Check It Out: Help us fill in our snow globe! Every check out adds to the fun!

Author Spotlight: This month we're highlighting author Ezra Jack Keats. Learn about the author and his work and make a paper hat to celebrate one of his famous books!

Winter Obstacle Course: Can you make it through all the challenges in our Winter Obstacle Course?

Winter Scavenger Hunt BINGO: It's a winter themed hunt through Youth Services!

What Brings You Joy?: We're feeling extra joyful this season. What brings you joy? Let us know on our Post It Note Board.

Teen Grab & Go: Yarn Trivet: Stop in and grab a kit to make a Yarn trivet at home. Limited to 20 kits.

Outlaw Artists: Do you have what it takes? Put your art skills to the test and find out!

Spice of the Month: January's spice is Paprika. Stop in to see information about this spice and pick up some recipes to make at home.
